Re. "3 people arrested, 3 bears are killed" and "Bear that made itself at home is caught, destroyed" (The Tri-City News, Aug. 1).
Hats off to the protesters in Coquitlam for taking a stand against the unnecessary, disgraceful killing of the three bears.
Let me understand how our politicians and government agencies think and react. They are spending huge amounts of money and resources to fly salmon off to a safer destination due to a river blockage. Couldn't conservation officers think of a better plan than needlessly killing the bears? Couldn't they tranquilize the bears and relocate them?
