The Editor,

The Sheep Paddocks Trail has been been an excellent connector to Colony Farms and the Poco Trail since it has been rehabilitated and reopened, and numerous people have come out to explore and enjoy it.

Unfortunately, the Red Bridge and Coquitlam River have been neglected for years: the sidewalks are buried under mud and trash, nearby trees are used as dumping grounds, and the river banks and trees are decorated with plastic bags.

Why the area wasn't cleaned up before the trail was reintroduced is a mystery, but now that the area is once again full of families and exercisers, something needs to be done.

Port Coquitlam and Coquitlam (their side is the worst) need to come together and complete the rehabilitation of the area so that it will have visitors coming back — or people will end up just being scared away.
