Re. "Who will pay for School District 43 deficit debacle?" (Opinion, The Tri-City News, April 19).
As a former Coquitlam school district teacher, and a resident of Langley since 1970, I can assure you the students will suffer from School District 43's funding shortfall.
A number of years ago, Langley School District suffered a similar budget-buster accounting problem. A couple of administrators, too many teachers and support staff were cut. Class sizes increased and students bore the brunt.
Ironically, as Langley recently announced its shortfall has been made up, Coquitlam's newly discovered budget problem was announced.
Election time is the time for questions. I encourage Coquitlam residents to ask yours.
