A big shout-out to all the staff at Eagle Ridge Hospital in Port Moody.
This hospital is run like a well-oiled machine. From the moment I entered the ER with my dad, a veteran of the Second World War, he has been the recipient of the very best of care and attention from the intake clerks, nurses and all the doctors.
They were professional, compassionate, thorough and curious in their questioning about his symptoms, quizzing family for more information to determine the best plan of care to help my dad.
After a series of tests, blood work, etc. it was determined he was going to be admitted. The care he has been receiving this past week is amazing.
The ward is immaculately clean; the food is terrific; every patient appears to have their needs met. There is constant checking in on my dad and others in his ward by nurses, care aids and doctors as well as various support teams ensuring they are OK.
I am amazed, they even help the patients with their meals. As busy as they are, I can always get my questions answered. They are always friendly and courteous.
I cannot say enough good things and I just feel so grateful that my father is receiving such tremendous care at this most difficult chapter of his life.
To all of you at Eagle Ridge, you have honoured my father with your care and in doing so, you have given me such comfort and peace of mind. Thank you so much.
