The Editor,

My husband was riding his mobility scooter past Minnekhada middle school last Wednesday morning when a wheel slipped off the sidewalk and he fell down a grassy embankment with the scooter on top of him.

Luckily for him, there were painters working on the school who observed what happened, ran to him and administered first aid until the ambulance arrived. He was hospitalized for a few hours and sustained very bad bruising in his rib area and abrasions to his elbow.

We are very grateful to those who came to his assistance; the workers who noticed his plight, the emergency personnel and also the vice-principal and office staff who kept his scooter safe in the school office until we could come and take it home.
