Re. "$150k to first Mossom milestone" (The Tri-City News, May 21).
It is said that few things age faster than an news story. Nobody wants old news. News, unlike wine doesn't seem to improve with age, or maybe it does?
Everywhere I go in the Tri-Cities, people acknowledge the fire at the Mossom Creek Hatchery in December. Almost in the same breath, they say the are happy to see the replacement and recovery are underway. The fire has taken on a life quite different from the usual news stories. The Tri-City News has found the positive, the upbeat and written news that inspires, instills hope and musters responses.
I am writing thank you notes today to a variety of supporters of the hatchery rebuild. We owe a lot of the credit for keeping our story alive to The Tri-City News and its staff.
