While it seems that Port Moody city employees' new contract is, as Mayor Mike Clay said, "quite reflective of the economic times we're living in" and the CUPE local president is "pretty happy with the results," one would have hoped our mayor and council would have tried harder to recoup some of the excess raises paid in the last couple of years that seemed "a little out of line."

Is this just indicative of justifying council's own turn at the trough in the future to keep up with the union?

Watch the pennies and the dollars will look after themselves.
