What a load of garbage on Coquitlam streets

The Editor,

Occasionally, to add purpose to my walk through our neighbourhood, I take with me tools to pick up garbage dropped on the street.

I did that again this morning and the attached photo accompanying this lettershows the results of four weeks of four blocks of "droppings" on residential streets leading to Como Lake in Coquitlam.

The number of cigarette butts and associated items clearly exceeds the total of all other items dropped but the persons who discarded those butts may take comfort in the fact that the number of geese droppings around Como Lake was possibly even higher. They, too, presumably do not consider their actions as being offensive.
