I had a premonition in June 2013 that I would rescue a collie from Washington. The next month I saw Lance on Craigslist from Lynden, Washington needing a new home. He was very overweight, his fur had been shaved off and he was in desperate need of a bath when we got him to our home in Coquitlam. After 1 1/2 years he lost the extra weight, grew his beautiful coat back and we loved him. Then he developed a chronic nasal discharge in February 2016. In July he had a scope of his nasal passages and unknown to me his lung. He developed a very serious pneumonia the next day. He stayed 11 nights in the Langley Emergency Animal Hospital and finally got to go home with 3 months of additional antibiotics. He was too weak to walk up the back outside steps so we carried him. Then on February 12, 2017 he took a turn for the worse after I declared that day that I think he’s cured! He passed away on Family Day February 13. This photo was taken probably 1 to 2 months prior to him leaving us. Lance was a beautiful, gentle soul and we miss him.
