One of the last independent web printers in B.C. is dedicated to freedom of the press

Web Express believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to share their voice through print

Since 1997, Web Express has been at the forefront of innovation in local and sustainable commercial printing.

As British Columbia's community commercial printer, Web Express is home to more than 250 publications in 20 different languages.

The full-service printer is primed for digital and web printing, binding, mailing, and shipping. Its unique facility is designed for rapid production, low-waste printing, superior quality, and timely distribution from its central location in the heart of Metro Vancouver.

“We take care of 95% of everything in house, which gives us a lot of control over delivery dates and more,” general manager Vic Noble says.

From design to printing and binding, distribution and shipping, the Web Express team is dedicated to making printing easy. Producing jobs in house gives its customers the best turnaround time possible.

Web Express prints many local newspapers throughout Metro Vancouver, as well as leisure guides, community guides, catalogues, and more.

What sets the printer apart is its social purpose to empower liberty, democracy and community through freedom of expression.

Web Express participated in the Social Purpose Innovators program at the Social Purpose Institute at United Way, where it defined its mission.

“It’s important that we still have freedom of expression in Canada,” Noble says.

“We try to offer that for the community and people of British Columbia. If you want to print something and get your message out there to people, we can help you with that. We don’t censor. We will print almost anything as long as it’s legal.”

Web Express believes they have a responsibility to give all voices a platform, and uses print to empower people of all means. No matter their background or circumstances, the printing company believes everyone deserves to share their message through the trusted medium of the written word.

That being said, Web Express does not endorse hate or illegal propaganda. They believe independent media is one of the key pillars of democracy.

Some of the organizations Web Express has worked with include the BC Civil Liberties Association, Pivot Foundation, Canada Helps, Fair Vote Canada, and many more.

The printing company is also sustainability focused—their annual sustainability report outlines various environmental impacts from how many trees have been conserved to how many gallons of water have been saved over the year.

“Everyone is concerned about their impact on the environment,” Noble says.

“While certain things can’t be helped when you’re in the printing business, we try our best to minimize our impact.”

In addition to its community printing efforts, Web Express also offers the Real Estate Print Shop, which is a full-serve commercial printing and mailing company specializing in direct mail for real estate agents. They are pleased to offer wholesale pricing to the realtor community.
