The Coquitlam Adanacs are still perfect.

The BC Junior A Lacrosse League team won its fifth game in as many starts Tuesday, defeating the Delta Islanders 13-6 at the Poirier Sports and Leisure Complex.

The Adanacs will go for its sixth straight win to start the season tonight, when they host the Burnaby Lakers at 7:30 p.m.

Against the Islanders, Coquitlam jumped to a 6-3 lead at the end of the first period and were never threatened. They led 10-5 heading into the third period.

Dennon Armstrong scored three goals and assisted on three others to lead the Adanacs’ attack. Philip Buque and Robert Hofseth also had hat tricks, while Gabe Procyk had six assists.

Nate Faccin stopped 39 shots in Coquitlam’s net, while the Adanacs fired 49 shots at Islanders’ keepers Matt Hills and Brody Harris.

A win tonight would vault the defending Minto Cup national junior lacrosse champions into first place in the BCJALL standings, along with the Langley Thunder, who’ve played eight games already.
