Anomie's Ethan Leyh, shown at a training camp of his former midget team, the Vancouver Northeast Giants, is ranked for selection in the sixth round of this summer's NHL entry draft that will be held in Vanoucver.

Anmore’s Ethan Leyh is ranked 161st overall by National Hockey League Central Scouting in its mid-season report of prospects for the 2019 entry draft that will be held in Vancouver.

Leyh, a left winger, leads the BC Hockey League’s Langley Rivermen in scoring with 36 points in 38 games. It’s his second season in the league and he recently committed to join the Qunnipac University Bobcats, in Hamden, Conn., on a hockey scholarship next season.

Earlier this week, Leyh was in Okotoks, Alta., to play for Team West in the annual CJHL Prospects Game. He assisted on his team’s opening goal as the western all-stars beat Team East, 5-2.

Leyh is one of 26 players from Canadian Junior Hockey League teams across the country to catch the attention of the NHL’s scouting bureau. They’re led by Alex Newhook of the BCHL’s Victoria Grizzlies, who’s slotted as a first-round selection, 16th overall.

The first round of the NHL draft will be held on Friday, June 21, at Roger’s Arena, while the second to seventh rounds go the next day. Leyh’s ranking would put his selection in the sixth round.
