Balance and coordination are two of the physical skills kids can practice at Saturday's free Ready, Set, PLAY! event to promote physical literacy at Coquitlam's Pinetree Communty Centre.

Kids may be off school for spring break, but the learning never stops. Especially when it comes to physical literacy.

On Saturday, March 23, the city of Coquitlam is putting on its annual Ready, Set, PLAY! event at the Pinetree Community Centre (1260 Pinetree Way) to introduce kids 5 to 12 years-old to a variety of sports and activities that will give them a chance to practice the different movements they’ll need to enjoy life-long physical activity. Those skills include running, kicking, jumping, throwing, catching, agility, balance and coordination.

The free event goes from 3 to 5 p.m.
