Reds players win silver

Coquitlam Reds’ pitchers Jack Seward and Madjik MacKenzie are returning home with silver medals they earned playing for Team BC at the Canada Cup U17 baseball championships in Moncton, N.B., last weekend. Team BC was defeated 9-5 in the final by Ontario.

MacKenzie, a two-way player who’s also a threat at the plate, led Team BC’s offence with a pair of hits and three rbi’s in the final. Seward was tagged with the loss in the championship game after he gave up five runs on eight hits in the two innings he pitched.
