As one of the province’s top education institutions, Simon Fraser University strives to encourage learning and skill development – and the summer months are no exception. SFU Summer Camps offers camps and clinics for everyone, from exploring the Sciences to making movies, SFU features over 60 unique types of camps.
Jason Stockley, the SFU Camps Manager, said “the university offers such a wide variety of camps to appeal to all the unique interests of young people in the community, offering fun, stimulating and educational opportunities for everyone.” What makes SFU camps one of the most unique programs in the Lower Mainland is its commitment to athletics, education, world culture, and innovation. Each of these program areas are designed to encourage learning in an open, safe, and fun environment.
SFU Summer Camps’ educational camps consistently exceed the expectations of participants. High quality instructors are joined alongside current SFU students and recent graduates who share their knowledge and mentor campers. From French Immersion to Pre-University camps, students explore new interests in a supportive and inclusive environment. Outdoor adventure camps and hiking field trips appeal to the active outdoorsperson and budding environmentalists, while the recreational and athletics camps allow youth the chance to become MVPs in their favourite sport, led by varsity athletes and coaches.
“What brings campers back year after year in the incredible experience and the friendships that are formed with other campers and instructors,” Stockley said, adding that campers often have difficulty choosing what camps they want to do the following year “because there are just so many options and they want to do them all!”
