Helping every patient to have a fresh new smile is a top priority for Westwood Denture Clinic. The clinic can even arrange home or institutional visits for the patients who are unable to come for an appointment.

"We also offer complimentary consultations," Milad says. "It's important to us that your dentures fit properly and look good. To do that, we need to take into consideration your personal situation and what's important to you."

Conveniently located on Lougheed Highway, Coquitlam, next to the Superstore, the clinic is open Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with Saturday appointments available on request.

"One of the things we emphasize with all our patients," Milad explains, "is that even the best dentures don't last forever. They may feel comfortable, but they are made of static material. Your gums change constantly over time, but your dentures don't. It's important to have regular checkups and a rebase or reline."

Milad and his colleagues recommend a rebase or relining of dentures every two years and suggest considering replacing dentures every five years.

"We often see patients who have had the same dentures for 20 years," Milad says. "They think they're fine, but often the dentures have worn down to the point that they are masticating food rather than chewing it."

Westwood Denture Clinic contacts patients every three months just to touch base. At the six-month mark, they suggest an appointment to make sure that dentures are functioning as they should.

"The worst case scenario," Milad says, "is that we will clean and polish your dentures so that you get a refreshed look."

Milad often hears from his clients' families that Mom or Dad put up with denture discomfort because they don't want to be a bother.

"Don't suffer," Milad urges. "Come and see us. You're not a bother. Don't put up with discomfort or pain; your mouth or gums could be deteriorating. We can help ease any discomfort by modifying or replacing the dentures."

No referrals are necessary for an appointment with the clinic. For people without insurance coverage Westwood Denture has payment plans available.
