An employee at Coquitlam’s Real Canadian Superstore off Lougheed Highway has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a bulletin posted by the store’s parent company.

Loblaw Company Ltd. posted the exposure notification on its website Dec. 2, indicating a worker had tested positive for the virus SAR-CoV-2, which causes COVID-19.

The individual last worked Nov. 24, according to the company.

The positive case at the 1301 Lougheed Highway location is one of 11 active exposure notifications flagged at the grocer’s B.C. stores since Nov. 27.

As Canada’s largest food retailer, Loblaw Company Ltd. owns such chains as T&T Supermarket, No Frills and Shoppers Drug Mart.

Several of the company’s Tri-City locations have been flagged for positive COVID-19 cases among staff, including Dennis’ No Frills, a Shoppers Drug Mart at 3025 Lougheed Highway, as well as a T&T Supermarket and second Real Canadian Superstore in the heart of Coquitlam.
