Fraser Health is now immunizing people ages 30 and over (born in 1991 or earlier) in nine additional neighbourhoods in the region where there are high rates of COVID-19 transmission.

More areas of Fraser Health have been added to the list of COVID-19 hot spots where registered residents can immediately book an appointment for a vaccine.

The FHA also lowered the minimum age for those who can book now from 40 to 30-years-old.

The health region on Thursday announced the following areas have been added to the high-priority neighbourhoods:

Surrey (Guildford, Cloverdale)

Abbotsford (Central, East and Rural)

Langley (Willoughby)

Burnaby (Southeast, Southwest)

South Mission

They join these areas that have already been listed as high-priority neighborhoods for vaccination:

North Delta

Surrey (West Newton, East Newton, Whalley, Panorama, North Surrey, Fleetwood)

Port Coquitlam

South Langley Township

West Abbotsford

The health region states it is continuing with immunizing priority groups and locations where it is seeing outbreaks and clusters.

By providing vaccine to these specific neighbourhoods, the health region says it can protect more people and help prevent COVID-19 transmission.

The health region and the province are also urging everyone 18 and over to register for the vaccine program.
