The finished artwork will be unveiled at Place des Arts (1120 Brunette Ave., Coquitlam) on June 2, 2022.

The sessions are free and are open to all ages and abilities.

Also this month, the Maillardville venue will kick off the first in a series of 50–50 raffles aimed at raising funds for subsidized events and programs, as well as provide bursaries to students.

The first go-round is from Sept. 18 to Oct. 16. Visit placedesarts.ca/fundraising-activities to purchase tickets.

Meanwhile, the 50th anniversary party will be staged at the Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam), where many Place des Arts’ classes take place.

Music, dance, theatre, visual arts and storytelling are on the program. Admission is free; however, registration is required. Go to Eventbrite to book tickets: pda50thanniversarygala.eventbrite.ca.

And, in June, Place des Arts will showcase artwork for a special community exhibition.

Former and current teachers, students, staff and volunteers are invited to submit artwork that reflects their connection with Place des Arts. Visit placedesarts.ca/exhibitions/call-for-artists for exhibition guidelines and the application form.
