Chamber elects new board to steer Tri-City businesses next year

The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce has a new board chair.

On Tuesday, Nov. 14, the business advocacy group named Daniel Richardson to lead the board following an election during the annual general meeting at the Vancouver Golf Club, which drew more than 90 members.

A managing partner at BTM Lawyers, Richardson will replace Jenifer Wright, general manager of the Westwood Plateau Golf and Country Club, in the top job.

He will be joined on the executive by vice chair Jennifer McKinnon, the human resources director for Manhas Health and the executive director of the Port Coquitlam Business Improvement Association (BIA).

Eric Salvador, a senior manager with Rise CPA Inc., will be the board treasurer next year.

As per the national Boards of Trade Act, the trio signed an oath of office before Coquitlam Mayor Richard Stewart.

Responsible for the Chamber’s strategic planning, annual budget and other governance matters, the board works with CEO Leslie Courchesne and Chamber staff to represent the interests of more than 1,000 businesses and to promote the organization.

The group started in 1971.
