Coquitlam RCMP is calling on the public to turn in dash cam footage that could throw a light on a serious accident that occurred yesterday between a scooter and an electric vehicle.
At around 3 p.m. Thursday, March 25, police said they got a call reporting that a scooter and a Chevrolet Bolt had collided in the eastbound lane of Lougheed Highway just before the Pitt River Bridge.
Both vehicles were demolished on impact, according to a Coquitlam RCMP press release, sending the driver of the scooter to the hospital. The driver of the car, meanwhile, remained on the scene with several witnesses.
According to a preliminary investigation by the detachment’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team, alcohol has been ruled out as a contributing factor in the crash.
Police are asking anyone with any information to call the Coquitlam RCMP’s non-emergency line at 604-945-1550 and ask to speak with traffic services regarding file 2021-7745.
