Heather Williams was reported missing by Coquitlam RCMP on July 30, 2022, and police are concerned for her health and well-being.

A 71-year-old Coquitlam woman has been found dead nearly a week after she was reported missing to police.

But the exact cause of Heather Williams' death is unknown, and RCMP have called in the BC Coroners Service to investigate.

Foul play is not suspected and there's no risk to public safety, said spokesperson Const. Deanna Law in an update today (Aug. 4).

Williams was last seen around 2 p.m. on Friday (July 29) while operating her three-wheeled mobility scooter on Victoria Drive in the Burke Mountain area.

Coquitlam Search and Rescue (SAR) was also deployed and searched through the night in hopes of finding her.

The investigation is ongoing and no other information is being released at this time.
