Coquitlam RCMP continue to call for witnesses and video following a double shooting in the Coquitlam Centre mall parking lot on Sunday, Feb. 11.
Police were called to the scene shortly before midnight where they found a man and a woman in their late 20s, in a vehicle, with gunshot wounds.
Both victims remain in hospital.
Investigators believe at least two suspects were involved in the shooting and are connected to a silver Chrysler 200 that was found to be on fire in the area of 180 Street and Golden Ears Way in Surrey, at 12:16 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 12.
“Police are asking anyone who may have observed a silver Chrysler 200 in the parking lot area of Barnet Highway and Pinetree Way in Coquitlam between 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, 2024, and 12:30 a.m. on Monday, February 12, 2024, to contact the Coquitlam RCMP,” said Insp. Darren Carr, acting officer-in-charge of Coquitlam RCMP, in a press release.
“We understand and share the community concerns regarding the recent shootings within the Coquitlam Centre area," he added.
"We are exploring every investigational avenue while working with assisting agencies as crime is borderless and can be interconnected in multiple jurisdictions.”
