Update: Police on scene after shooting by Cactus Club in Coquitlam

Part of the southern lot at Coquitlam Centre mall is taped off following an overnight police incident.

Two people are in hospital after an overnight shooting near the Cactus Club restaurant in Coquitlam. 

Coquitlam Mounties say they were called to the incident shortly before midnight last night, where they found a man and a woman in a vehicle — both with gunshot wounds.

Police are now calling for witnesses who may have dash-cam, surveillance or cellphone video of the area, between 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 11 and 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 12, to come forward and speak with the Coquitlam RCMP General Investigations Section (GIS).


8:30 a.m., Feb. 12

RCMP are on scene in the southern lot of the Coquitlam Centre mall parking lot this morning, Feb. 12, after an overnight shooting.

It's the fourth known shooting in the city since the start of 2024.

An area has been cordoned off with yellow tape in the 2900-block of Barnet Highway near the Cactus Club Café restaurant.
