Snow in Coquitlam may be responsible for downing a tree in the city, resulting in a power outage to 4,600 homes.
BC Hydro reports that crews have been sent out to fix the problem, which knocked out power throughout north east Coquitlam, including Burke Mountain neighbourhoods.
The outage reportedly covers the area east of Cimmaron Drive and north of Dominion Avenue.
According to the latest estimate, power is supposed to be back on by 6 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Port Moody Fire Department is reporting that multiple wires are down at White Pine Beach and crews are on the scene.
Environment Canada posted a snowfall warning earlier today, with a projected 5cm to fall this afternoon in many Lower Mainland neighbourhoods, including Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Port Mooddy.
Snow is expected to ease off these evening.
