Canada Post says there may be some delays for mail and parcel deliveries today (Feb. 28) as a result of the heavy snowfall.

Don't worry, your mail is coming. It might just be delayed.

That's what Canada Post is telling Tri-Cities residents expecting mail or packages to be delivered to their homes today (Feb. 28).

Environment Canada's snowfall warning is over, the national agency said, which called for up to 10 cm of the heavy stuff to accumulate today across Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore and Belcarra.

A yellow service alert was issued by Canada Post on Monday (Feb. 27) following a combined 35 cm of snow from the weekend, which led to slippery conditions on local roads and sidewalks.

"We are doing our best to deliver, but there may be delays," spokesperson Lisa Liu said in a news release, noting the yellow alert is for most other Metro Vancouver municipalities, too.

"Delivery will resume once conditions improve and it’s safe to do so. The safety of our employees is our number one priority."

While waiting for delivery, Tri-Cities homeowners and neighbours are encouraged to help shovel the snow and, if possible, salt icy patches along their sidewalks, stairs and driveways.
