Port Coquitlam is offering a free public family skate on Monday, Feb. 21, which is Family Day in B.C.

Family Day in B.C. is just days away and many are likely looking for low cost or no-cost things to do.

Port Coquitlam has a number of fun activities planned if you’re looking for something to do with your family on Family Day Monday (Feb. 21).

Family Day activities include skating, swimming, art classes and more. But be sure to register first, where required.

Here is what you can look forward to:

The Outlet

- Family Imagination Studio (Free)

Make art together in a free-flowing, creative studio.

  • 1 to 1:45 p.m.
  • 2 to 2:45 p.m.
  • 3 to 3:35 p.m.
  • 4 to 4:45 p.m.

Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC)

- Free Public Skate

  • 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
  • 1:15 to 2:15 p.m.
  • 2:45 to 3:45 p.m.

Pre-registration required at portcoquitlam.ca/register. (Limited supply of free skate and helmet rentals.)

- Free Public Swim

  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Pre-registration required at portcoquitlam.ca/register.

Drop-in Weight Room (Free, registration not required)

  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

- Drop-in Playmania (ages 1-6)

Run, jump and play! Explore fun indoor spaces where your little one will enjoy a variety of playtime activities.

  • 9 to 10:30 a.m.
  • 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

First participant $6, second participant free and any additions after that, $2.

Hyde Creek Recreation Centre

- Free Public Swim

  • 1 to 5 p.m.

Pre-registration required at portcoquitlam.ca/register.

This mid-winter holiday offers families the chance to spend some extra time together.

Masks Required

Residents are reminded that masks are required for people age 5 and up at all indoor City of Port Coquitlam facilities, regardless of vaccination status.
