Home Depot Canada announced this week it will be hiring more than 900 people across British Columbia — including its locations in Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam — to help it get through the busy spring season.
In a press release, the company said it’s looking for “enthusiastic applicants,” meaning students, people starting a new career or simply people people.
In Port Coquitlam, the company is looking to fill full-time, part-time and seasonal roles in the following positions: sales associates, cashiers, lot associates, overnight freight team associates and garden centre associates.
Full- and part-time employees have access to company’s benefits package, which includes health and dental, tuition reimbursements, employee assistance programs and profit-sharing programs.
According to the company, The Home Depot has 2,291 stores in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico, and employs more than 400,000 people.
Those interested in becoming a candidate can text “Home Depot Jobs” to 97211 to apply. You can also attend an upcoming job fair at the company’s Port Coquitlam location (1069 Nicola Drive) Thursday, Feb. 20 from 4 to 6 p.m.

The Home Depot’s latest hiring spree comes amid a turbulent few years for its competitors. Lowe’s, another home improvement retail giant that is based out of North Carolina, bought the Canadian home improvement chain Rona for $3.2 billion in 2016. By last November, Lowe’s Canada announced it would close 34 “under-performing” stores across the country.
