Muscle vehicles of the past will ignite an early start to summer this weekend in Port Coquitlam.
The Terry Fox Secondary football teams are hosting a Raven Rods and Classic Car Show all day Sunday (June 11).
More than 250 vintage vehicles and motorcycles from the Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley branches of the Pharaohs Car Club are expected be on display in the school's parking lot (1260 Riverwood Gate) for the community to see.
Live music, a concession stand, several raffles, a silent auction, a 50/50 draw and bake sale will also be on hand.
Organizers are hoping the Tri-Cities can participate in as many entities as all proceeds are set to help cover expenses for Terry Fox's football programs for the 2023-24 season.
Money donated to the fundraising event will go towards purchasing team equipment such as pads and helmets, as well as any other necessary costs.
The event is cash only, according to a social media post by Terry Fox Athletics.
Port Coquitlam Coun. Paige Petriw, as acting mayor, is scheduled to deliver remarks and present some awards.
The Raven Rods and Classic Car Show is slated for tomorrow (June 11) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In 2022, the Ravens' AAA senior varsity team finished 5-1, but lost in the wild-card playoff game 30-14 to Notre Dame — one year after settling for second in the province.
Its junior squad went 4-0 in the regular season and won the wild-card, but fell short in the quarterfinal by one point, 21-20, also to Notre Dame.
