On Our Radar: Headshot mixer to refresh profiles of Tri-Cities entrepreneurs

First impressions do matter, and the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce is bringing in a professional photographer to help.
The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce is hosting a "sip and snap" headshot party on Aug. 16, 2023, for community members looking to update their business/social media profile.

A smile goes a long way.

Especially if it's featured on a well-photographed portrait attached to a résumé you've painstakingly put together for job hunts.

The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce (TCCC) is offering community members the chance to update their professional headshot, or provide a new one, for their business or social media profile during a networking event next month.

The organization has teamed up with Butter Studios for a mixer night in Port Moody on Aug. 16.

A photographer will take your portrait and patrons are set to receive one web-sized photo for free.

However, the TCCC's event description says interested guests can pay extra to either upgrade to a high-resolution file ($15).

A gallery of proofs are set to be available after the evening, which is also acting as a meet-and-greet with as food and alcoholic drinks being served.

Each ticket includes one complimentary beer, wine or cider. Artisanal pizzas and sandwiches are also available for purchase.

Registration is required as spots are limited, the TCCC explains.

The Sip and Snap Headshot Party takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 16 at the Outpost community hub — located at 3001 St Johns St.

Tickets start at $40 for TCCC members and $50 for non-members.
