Port Coquitlam's Fountainhead Network is hosting a 'schmoozer' event on June 28, 2023, for local residents and the business community to mingle and connect.

Making friends and supporting colleagues can go a long way in life.

It can lead to new career opportunities, business collaborations or even partnerships that benefit the community.

A Port Coquitlam coworking space is inviting local residents and entrepreneurs to mix and mingle with each other as part of one of "largest physical" networking events in the region tomorrow (June 28).

The Tri-Cities Entrepreneur Schmoozer, hosted by the Fountainhead Network, hopes to connect prospective business people with others in the community in a casual, pressure-free setting.

The media space already boasts as a safe facility where Tri-Cities professionals can come and go as they choose in order to finish their tasks of the day.

Husband and wife co-owners Mike Arboit and Erin Scarlett said hundreds of people from across different industries have utilized Fountainhead's open office area with desks 55 inches apart, media studios, workshop classrooms and board rooms.

"We wanted to build a community....people that kind of work together. Whether it be just trade offs, or just a lot of startups, a lot of people don't have the money to go and spend ridiculous amounts of money on marketing or stuff," said Arboit in an earlier interview with the Tri-City News

"A lot of other co-working spaces don't have our family vibe, too. We didn't see anything like this anywhere. We wanted something locally so people didn't have to go downtown for everything anymore."

The Schmoozer is set to offer coffee and appetizers while participants exchange cards and be "resourceful to one another" during the lunch-hour event on Wednesday.

It's scheduled to take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Fountainhead's lounge — located at 204-3242 Westwood St.

Tickets are $15 each, but it's free if you're a member.

Interested residents are asked to RSVP in advance via the coworking company's website, where you'll also find more information.
