You can weave paper strips to create a masterpiece at a Coquitlam arts hub next week.

On Friday, Feb. 23, Place des Arts will host its Fun with Paper session — for adults only — at its Brunette Avenue venue from 7 to 9 p.m.

A cash bar will be open.

Led by artist Mariana Frochtengarten, participants can use photographs, image manipulation and watercolour paints, as well as poetry, to make a work that speaks to aspects of their life.

“The art of interweaving words and images is a profound metaphor for our lives, and it may stir up many new ideas for further investigation,” Frochtengarten said in a news release.

A 30-year textile artist and art teacher, Frochtengarten has a master’s degree in fine arts and textiles and a certificate in expressive arts therapy.

Tickets are $26 per person, or $42 for two people via Eventbrite.ca or by calling 604-664-1636. If available, tickets can also be purchased at the door an hour before the session starts. All supplies are included.
