Heritage Woods lost 95-52 to the Tamanawis Wildcats in their opening round game

The Heritage Woods Kodiaks were swatted into the consolation round the BC School Sport AAAA senior boys provincial basketball championship by the Tamanawis Wildcats, Wednesday at the Langley Events Centre.

The fourth-seed Wildcats defeated the 11th-ranked Kodiaks 95-52.

Heritage Woods struggled to find its shooting game right from the opening tipoff and trailed 21-9 by the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter was even worse as the Wildcats took a 55-19 advantage into the dressing room at halftime.

The Kodiaks finally found some range after the break and actually outscored Tamanawis 18-17 in the final quarter. But it was far too little too late.

Joseph Thompson scored 24 points for Heritage Woods, which will play 12-seed Sullivan Heights in a consolation round game Thursday at noon at the LEC.
