The annual Polish–Canadian Art Fusion display in Port Moody, which opens today, features works from 25 artists of Polish heritage, including from the late Zbigniew Kupczynski who died last month.

“Remembering Poland” is the theme for this year’s Polonez Tri-City Polish Association's art show in Port Moody.

The exhibit, which opens today, March 18, at Port Moody City Hall (100 Newport Dr.) runs until March 27.

The reception takes place on Sunday, March 24, at 2 p.m. followed by a musical concert in the Inlet Theatre at 4:30 p.m.; entry is $30 for the recital via Brown Paper Tickets.

Curator and concert co-ordinator Hana Kostka told the Tri-City News that the eighth annual Polish–Canadian Art Fusion display in the Galleria features works from 25 artists of Polish heritage, including from the late Zbigniew Kupczynski who died last month.

“He was very well known in the art community and his paintings were exhibited in Musée de la Ville in Paris and Museum of Art (together with Picasso, Miro, Braque and Chagall),” she said.

“Known for his distinguished style, he left behind hundreds of paintings that are part of many collections worldwide.”

The exhibit and concert are supported by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland.

Founded in 1989, the Polonez Tri-City Polish Association of BC is best known for its annual Polish festival in downtown Port Coquitlam.
