Port Moody police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with the recent assault of a 24-year-old female.

The incident took place Dec. 9, at about 3:50 p.m. as the woman was walking down Glenayre Drive in Port Moody. An unknown man approached the woman aggressively and assaulted her, confirmed PMPD Sgt. J. Ian Morrison in a press release.

“It is believed that a person was walking a dog nearby and may have witnessed the assault,” added Sgt. Morrison. “The investigator would also be interested in viewing any dash cam footage that may have been recorded in the area at the time of the offence.”

Police describe the suspect as a Caucasian male in his early 20’s, with short, light brown hair, blue eyes and brown eyebrows. At the time of the incident, he wore a black hat, a royal blue windbreaker, baggy, straight-legged pants and a black face mask, added the police spokesperson.

Should anyone have information connected to the assault, police urge them to contact Const. Thomas Queenan on the Port Moody Police Department’s non-emergency line at 604-461-3456.
