City-wide garage sales are happening in Port Moody and Port Coquitlam in April 2024. Registration is now open for residents who want to sell their second-hand goods.

Port Moody and Port Coquitlam homeowners can now sign up to sell their unwanted wares in their cities’ community garage sales.

Registration is now open for Port Moody residents wanting to take part in the city-wide garage sale on Saturday, April 20.

The deadline to register a house is April 8; bargain hunters can look for a list of participating households online after April 10.

Meanwhile, in Port Coquitlam, its 15th annual city-wide garage sale will take place on Saturday, April 27 — following Earth Week and Earth Day; last year, more than 165 homes took part in the civic initiative.

This year, the municipality will have two sites for residents in apartments and townhouses to also join in:

  • the parking lot at Hyde Creek Recreation
  • the parking lot at Gates Park on Reeve Street

However, with space is limited, multi-family home dwellers are encouraged to sign up soon.

All participants will need to pack up their unsold items and recycle them or and save them for the city’s large item pick-up program.

Alternatively, homeowners can also donate household items and clothing to a Port Coquitlam thrift store or charity.

For second-hand treasure seekers, the City of Port Coquitlam is reminding shoppers to respect the sellers’ front yards and hours of operation (typically between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.), and to have small bills and change available.
