Trees coming down to make way for Evergreen Line in Coquitlam

More trees and brush will have to be removed to make way for the Evergreen Line but will be replaced, according to the company building the $1.4-billion project.

More trees and brush will have to be removed to make way for the Evergreen Line but will be replaced, according to the company building the $1.4-billion project.

Starting next week, crews will remove trees on the east side of Pinetree Way between Glen Drive and Guildford Way.

The work will take about two weeks, with crews cutting brush and trees between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. To accommodate the work, there will be temporary parking restrictions on PInetree Way next to the work zone and, possibly, temporary daytime lane closures on Pinetree northbound.

According to EGRT Construction, trees along the Evergreen Line route have been included in an environmental inventory and a project team will work with municipalities to replace them.
