Have volunteers from the Rotary Centennial Club and civic workers fix your broken household item for free at the monthly Repair Café, which takes place at the Port Coquitlam Works Yard (1737 Broadway St., Port Coquitlam) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Grab a gift for a special someone at the 8th annual Port Moody Christmas Craft Fair, on from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Port Moody City Hall (100 Newport Dr.). Admission is free. Proceeds support A Better Life Foundation.

Now That’s Ugly
It’s time to don those nasty holiday threads for the 10th annual Original Ugly Christmas Sweater Dash, happening at 10 a.m. from Anmore Elementary (30 Elementary Rd.). Trophies will be awarded for the ugliest sweater, best group costume, ugliest kids sweater and ugliest dog sweater. Take part in the 5-km walk/run and finish off with a cup of hot chocolate and cookies by the fire with the non-profit society organizers. Admission is between $10 and $50.

Christmas Craft Fair
It’s the 42nd year for the Coquitlam Christmas Craft Fair, held this year at the Poirier Forum (next to the Dogwood Pavilion, 618 Poirier St.) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $5/$3 (no cost for kids 12 and under). Tickets are via Eventbrite.ca.

Winter in PoCo
Hear the live entertainment while you shop at the Winter Artisan Market for a city-run festival at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (2150 Wilson Ave.) from noon to 8 p.m. Christmas in the Square will also include food trucks, a site-wide sip-n-shop from local craft breweries and distilleries and an official lighting of the civic Christmas tree at 5 p.m. You can also take a photo with Santa and make a craft. The musical line-up includes the Collage Singers, Beauty Shop Dolls, Ben Crosby, Phat Santa Swing and Diane Lines while Taylight and Tinhouse breweries will pour their suds.

Cram the Cruiser
Help the Coquitlam RCMP detachment Cram the Cruiser with non-perishable food and cash donations from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Police vehicles will be parked outside the Safeway stores in Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam for the annual fundraiser for SHARE Family and Community Services.

One-Act Play
Theatre students at Heritage Woods Secondary (1300 David Ave., Port Moody) get ready for next week's MetFest at the school by presenting two 30-minute shows: I'm a Teenager Get Me Out of this Family, written by Jim Garvey and directed by students Kinley Yu and Olivia Schneider; and Metamorphoses, penned by Mary Zimmerman and directed by students Zephyr Walters and Mila Morshedian. Operation Red Nose
If you’re out tonight and need a safe ride home, call the volunteers at Operation Red Nose Tri-Cities — an organization that supports KidSport Tri-Cities to help families register their children in sports. A driver and navigator will drive you home in your own vehicle while an escort driver in another car follows behind to collect the volunteers afterward. The hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 3 a.m.
