Eastbound traffic is starting to build-up along the Mary Hill Bypass (Highway 7B) heading into Port Coquitlam following a vehicle stall the afternoon of Jan. 17, 2022.

2:35 p.m.

DriveBC says the Mary Hill Bypass is now fully open heading east to Port Coquitlam.

A vehicle stall in the right lane forced the partial closure for more than three hours on Highway 7B between United Boulevard and Shaughnessy Street — just before the Coquitlam River Bridge.

However, eastbound congestion remains heavy as far back as the Highway 1 Cape Horn.

It caused a visual distraction for those heading west towards Coquitlam, and some slight traffic has built-up beyond Shaughnessy.

Expect delays if you're heading east into Port Coquitlam this afternoon (Jan. 17).

DriveBC has reported a vehicle stall along the Mary Hill Bypass before the Coquitlam River Bridge.

The provincial service first notified the incident after 11 a.m., which took place in the right eastbound lane between United Boulevard and Shaughnessy Street.

Commuters should expect congestion along Highway 7B until the lane is fully reopened, which has since backed up to the Highway 1 Cape Horn and causing a visual distraction for westbound traffic.

Other reports have indicated that the vehicle lost one of its wheels.
