CALGARY — Linebacker Jameer Thurman and running back Ka'Deem Carey are staying put. The Calgary Stampeders re-signed both Thurman and Carey on Monday. The two players were eligible to become free agents Feb. 8.

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension with national receiver Drew Wolitarsky on Monday. The six-foot-two, 225-pound Wolitarsky was scheduled to become a free agent next week.

TORONTO — Mike Nykoluk, who captained the Toronto Marlboros to a Memorial Cup title and went on to coach the NHL's Maple Leafs for three and a half seasons, has died. He was 87. The Maple Leafs confirmed Nykoluk's death on Twitter.

Canada's Derek Livingston will not compete in men's snowboard halfpipe at the Beijing Olympics after sustaining a lower-body injury during a recent training run. Livingston, from Aurora, Ont., will be replaced by Calgary's Liam Gill in the event.

HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed free-agent Canadian receiver Lemar Durant on Monday. Durant, 29, was released by the B.C. Lions on Jan. 21. Durant played nine games with B.C.

VANCOUVER — The B.C. Lions signed veteran American offensive lineman Joel Figueroa to a contract extension Monday. Figueroa, 32, was slated to become a free agent next week. Figueroa is entering his ninth CFL season and fourth with B.C.

MADRID (AP) — The last day of the winter transfer window arrived in Spain on Monday with Barcelona hoping to seal the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and find a buyer for Ousmane Dembélé.
