The Editor, Re. “SD43 and cities teaming up to fight daycare crunch” (The Tri-City News, Sept. 21).

The Editor, Any person who is running for mayor or council in Coquitlam in the Oct. 20 municipal election should be required to sign a pledge that he or she will resign their seat if they decide to run for office provincially or federally while on council.

I exhaled mightily when the federal Conservatives pledged not to re-open the abortion debate.

The Editor, The provincial electoral-reform referendum is biased. Note the absence of the independent Citizens Assembly that administered the provincial referenda of 2005 and 2009.

The Editor, Re. “Coquitlam council OKs temporary shelters” (The Tri-City News, Sept. 19).

Imagine if a politician on Coquitlam city council were convicted of a crime, such as sexually assaulting a teenage girl.
