T his year is on life support and 2014 is about to be born. But before we embrace and swaddle the infant year, what can we expect from it? Here's my less-than-comprehensive wish list for 2014, along with some predictions.

In the holiday season, perhaps some silliness could be forgiven. But the actions of MP James Moore and Port Moody council in the last two weeks are so atrocious as to be beyond folly.

'T is the season of peace on earth and goodwill toward persons. And because partisan bickering doesn't go well with egg nog or figgy pudding, this week is a time for us to share rather than call each other nuts.

Maybe the hand-over of recycling to Multi Material BC won't be a disaster. But for the program to work, it has to be two things: user-friendly and cheaper than the current system.
