Meadowbrook elementary in Coquitlam is the latest school to flag a coronavirus exposure.

Fraser Health has reported Coquitlam school district’s first COVID-19 exposure for 2021 after the Christmas break lull led the health authority to wrap up all its active investigations across SD43.

Meadowbrook elementary, located at 900 Sharpe Street, has been flagged for a coronavirus exposure on Jan. 4 and 5.

The exposure notification is one of only a handful of active investigations across British Columbia’s school districts, with only Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Delta and Surrey reporting exposures at one or two schools each as of Friday morning.

To date, 52 schools across the Tri-Cities — including a handful of private schools —have been flagged for at least COVID-19 exposure notification since September 2020.
