Yoga and beer - a genius combination now part of several sessions set to take place in Port Coquitlam.

You just mastered the downward dog yoga position? Cheers to that, friend.

And now, a Port Coquitlam brewery is collaborating with a Metro Vancouver yoga studio to give local residents the opportunity to try new things on the mat and at the bar.

Yoga on Tap hosted its first of four classes at Patina Brewing Co. (2332 Marpole Ave.) this past weekend, and more classes are scheduled to take place once a month for the next three months.

SHYpractice of North Vancouver is leading the session that promises a journey of healing and relaxation, all while mindfully enjoying a flight of beer that comes with each ticket.

The remaining classes take place on the following Saturdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.:

  • Sept. 24
  • Oct. 22
  • Nov. 19

Interested participants must be of legal drinking age — 19 years and older — and are encouraged to wear comfortable clothers and bring a full water bottle.

SHYpractice says mats will be available, but everyone's asked to bring their own.

Tickets are $30 each.
