One person is in hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries after being hit by a driver in Coquitlam.

The incident happened Saturday at Falcon Drive and Harrier Drive. A pedestrian was struck by a southbound GMC Canyon pickup truck that was turning off Falcon onto Harrier.

Emergency services responded and treated the senior who sustained potentially life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Royal Columbian Hospital for further treatment, currently in critical condition. 

The Coquitlam RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) as well as the Integrated Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Service (ICARS) were called to the scene to investigate the collision. 

The driver of the truck is cooperating with police.

Falcon was closed for several hours while police processed the scene.
