Metro Vancouver artists looking for a place to hang their new collection in 2024 can apply to a Maillardville arts hub.

The deadline is Jan. 15 for artists to place their bids for a temporary spot in the Atrium, Leonore Peyton Salon or Mezzanine galleries at Place des Arts in Coquitlam for the 2024–25 exhibition season.

Successful candidates will also see their work displayed online.

To be eligible, artists or groups must not be represented by a professional gallery and must not — or will not — have shown at Place des Arts between September 2022 and May 2024.

The centre wants to display new and original 2D and 3D mediums such as:

  • fibre arts
  • sculpture
  • ceramics
  • painting
  • photography
  • printmaking
  • digital art
  • mixed media
  • drawing

To apply, you can visit Place des Arts' website. The civic facility is located at 1120 Brunette Ave.

For more details, you can call the exhibitions programmer at 604-664-1636 (ext. 32) or email [email protected].

Meanwhile, the centre wrapped up its annual online auction on Saturday, Nov. 4, raising $7,279 for program subsidies and community outreach initiatives.

The organization had set a target of $7,000.
