Go the Distance

Lace up your runners for the 2023 Traboulay 50K Challenge presented by FiiT Projects and Taylight Brewing. The run, in support of SHARE Family and Community Services, starts with event registration at the brewery (402-1485 Coast Meridian Rd., Port Coquitlam) and launches from Peace Park. Teams of two will work to complete two laps of the Traboulay PoCo Trail, alternating every five kilometres between running and cycling. Registration is $50 per person and includes a T-shirt.

Trail Planning

Help the City of Port Moody create a future trail network. Share your thoughts at a Shoreline Trail pop-up information session between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. at Bert Flinn Park (1300 David Ave., Port Moody), where city staff and consultants will have information boards and maps of Port Moody’s current trail system.

Season Launch Party

Tour the art gallery and enjoy the music from the Juno-nominated band The Bills  at the 2023–24 season launch of the Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam). The exhibition tour with the artists opening RISE: Sandeep Johan and Sarah Khan is at 4 p.m., with the reception from 5 to 7 p.m. and the musical show at 7:30 p.m. featuring Marc Atkinson, Adrian Dolan, Chris Frye, Richard Moody and Scott White. Tickets are now on sale.

Salsa Night

Slip on your dancing shoes for the Latin dance night with the Salsa Dance Zone featuring Alberto Gonzalez and Teresa Szefler. The party is from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Port Coquitlam branch of the Royal Canadian Legion (2675 Shaughnessy St.). Admission is $15 and is suitable for ages 19 and older. A dance lesson for beginners is from 8 to 9 p.m.

Cayla and the Band

Listen to the tunes from Cayla Brooke and her all-star band for the season launch of the Inlet Theatre Music Series at the Inlet Theatre (100 Newport Dr., Port Moody). Bill Sample and Darlene Cooper are organizing the popular music series, and keyboardist Sample will be featured in Brooke’s ensemble that also includes Miles Foxx Hill on bass, Buff Allen on drums and Tim Porter on guitar.
