Coquitlam Express forward Christian MacDougall was the only player to score in the team's 6-1 loss to the Langley Rivermen, Tuesday in Langley.

The Coquitlam Express continue to have a hard time getting on track.

The BCHL club dropped its sixth straight game Tuesday (Nov. 2), in a 6-1 loss to the Rivermen at George Preston Arena in Langley.

It was also Coquitlam’s second consecutive setback to the Rivermen, who defeated the Express 5-0 on Sunday (Oct. 31).

Last night, a powerplay goal by Christian MacDougall midway through the first period got Coquitlam back on even terms less than three minutes after Ryan Upson had put Langley in front, 1-0.

But from there, the game went off the rails for the visitors.

Andrej Kovacevic put the Rivermen back in the lead, 2-1, with a powerplay goal as MacDougall cooled his heels in the penalty box for a boarding minor.

Keeton Oakley extended Langley’s lead to 3-1 with the only goal of the second period, then the hosts blew the game open with three more in the third.

Adam Manji faced 41 shots in the Express net, while his teammates fired 34 at Rivermen keeper Ajeet Gundarah.

The two teams meet again on Friday (Nov. 5), 7 p.m. at the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex.
