The Editor, Re. "Decision on PoCo Legion tax exemption may be just first" (The Tri-City News, Oct. 17). The city of Port Coquitlam's tax exemption for the Royal Canadian Legion is a step in the right direction. Now, our MPs should take the next step.

The Editor, I'm not sure what the idea is with the new traffic calming construction on Ioco Road in Port Moody but it is far more dangerous there now than it has ever was before. I've lived in the area for over 30 years and take Ioco road daily.

The Editor, Re. "Want a smarter government? Focus it" (As I See It, Opinion, The Tri-City News, Oct. 10). If all government's goals were economic, then devolving most functions to the marketplace would be a logical step.

There is no wall separating the cities of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody, and the villages of Anmore and Belcarra.

The Editor, Soon, we will be able to view the spectacle of tens of thousands of salmon returning to local streams and rivers to deposit the next generation among the gravel and then perish in the fast-flowing waters.

In response to Tom Fletcher's BC Views column published in The Tri-City News on Oct. 1 and headlined "Province looks at big numbers at B.C.

The Editor, Re. "Negative results if PoMo opts for four years of 'Royer Rule'" (Letters, The Tri-City News, Oct. 10). I was astounded when I read Mr. Peacock's brash and unsubstantiated statements about Gaetan and Zoe Royer .

The federal Conservatives deserve credit for recognizing that childhood fitness is an issue and that sports activities are expensive.
