Letter: Watchful guardian waited 'who knows how long' until I found my keys at Coquitlam Crunch

A man found a set of keys next to a vehicle and decided to wait until the rightful owner picked them up.

The Editor:

I went with my family for a hike at the Crunch in Coquitlam on Wednesday evening (June 30).

I parked the car at Lansdowne Drive, put the car key in my pocket and we started hiking.

On the way back, about an hour later, I realized that my pocket had a hole and I had lost the car keys.

My wife and daughter went immediately back to search for the key, and I continued towards the car to see if I had dropped the key close to the car.

I did not have much hope that I would find it and I was already thinking about how we would get home to get the spare keys.

When I approached the vehicle, the guy from the pickup truck parked behind my car asked me if I had lost my car key.

He had found it and decided to wait for who knows how long until we returned.

I am so grateful that there are people as kind, thoughtful and determined to help others as this man.
